Sustaining and advancing New York’s “human capital” is critical to the state’s efforts to recover from the current recession and compete in the global economy, according to experts at this event. This question-and-answer session followed presentations by Jaison R. Abel of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York ("Human Capital and Economic Activity in U.S. Metro Areas"), John Porter of the State University of New York ("Higher Education Enrollment Trends During Recessions") and discussant Laura Anglin of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities.
