How Will New York Implement Health Reform?

Passing health-care reform legislation at the national level was one major hurdle. Implementing the reforms at the state and local levels will present others, as the speakers at this event pointed out. Doar said that for health reform implementation to be effective, a single state or local agency must be identified to oversee changes. Other speakers were James Knickman, president and chief executive officer of the New York State Health Foundation, and Joseph D. Morelle, chair of the state Assembly's Standing Committee on Insurance.
