How Will New York Implement Health Reform?

Passing health-care reform legislation at the national level was one major hurdle. Implementing the reforms at the state and local levels will present others, as the speakers at this event pointed out. Morelle said the federal government should support the state's costs of implementing the reforms, and that state leaders should address the causes of escalating health-care expenses. Also speaking were James Knickman, president and chief executive officer of the New York State Health Foundation, and Robert Doar, commissioner of the New York City Human Resources Administration.
